About the Federation
One national platform for every youth organisation in Ghana
Working in partnership with the National Youth Authority to unite, empower and represent the voices of young people across the country.

Our mandate
Rooted in law and national youth policy
Rooted in the NYA Act 2016 and the National Youth Policy (2022–2032), GYF plays a pivotal role in youth consultation, mobilisation and programme implementation across the country.
The Ghana Youth Federation is the apex, non-partisan, youth-led body recognised under the National Youth Authority Act, 2016 (Act 939). We bring together youth-led and youth-focused organisations from every corner of Ghana.

Our mission
Coordinating youth-led development
To coordinate and support youth-led development through advocacy, capacity building, civic engagement, and partnerships at all levels.
- Driving youth policy advocacy that shapes government decision-making.
- Building leadership capacity and promoting civic participation.
- Mobilising young people for community development and national service.
- Creating partnerships that open global opportunities for Ghanaian youth.
Our work
Five pillars of the Federation
Youth Unity & Representation
We bring together diverse youth organisations — across all ethnic, political and social backgrounds — to act as one powerful voice.
Policy & Advocacy
We engage with policymakers to push for youth-friendly legislation and budget allocation in education, health, employment and innovation.
Capacity Development
From skills training to mentorship, we equip young people with tools to lead change and create economic opportunities.
Research & Innovation
We conduct youth-led research to influence policy and measure the real impact of government and development programmes.
